A Message from His Honour
The Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan

It is my sincere pleasure to extend greetings on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, to the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) upon the organization’s Centenary.

I have enjoyed opportunities to work in many beautiful countries with emerging or struggling democracies. When I return home to Canada, I am often shocked by our exceptionally high standard of living in contrast to the poor conditions in some nations. We are deeply blessed to live in a country that values public health.

It is impossible to measure the extraordinary impact of the CPHA. How do we count the lives saved by vaccines, clean water sources, disease prevention, or policies that create safe workplaces? Canadians owe a tremendous debt to the founders of the CPHA, and to those who have built upon that initial vision. I am grateful to all of the committed individuals, past and present, who have contributed to the valuable and life-saving work of the CPHA.

Please accept my congratulations and very wishes upon this historic milestone.
